About Me:
I decided to break my portfolio into the sections of experience: Career, School, and Volunteer. Each piece has helped me gain an solid understanding of the world around me. Similar and completely different simultaneously these aspects of my life have gotten me to where I am today. Feel free to browse what I have learned. Maybe I can help you figure out a similar solutions for your situation?
- Career - I learned early that experience is key in the technology industry. Starting at 16 I took over the office manager role at Gran't Appliances, Electronics, and more. I was able to take on IT duties and learn about having a real job. When I moved to Chicago I was lucky enough to find a job at onShore Networks. This is when my skills truly started to come to life. I have since moved on from onShore to focus on Drupal full time.
- School - Growing up a talented computer nerd I was invited during high school to take advantage of the Net Prep program at Harper College. Twice a week during my junior and senior year I left high school to take official college networking classes. After aceing the classes I knew I wanted to complete the program at De Paul University. In 2008 I completed my bachelors of science degree in computer science with a major in Network Technologies.
- Volunteer - During the netprep program at Harper College my teacher took a liking to me. He could see that I eaglry wanted to gain real world experience. He invited me to join the Willow Creek Volunteer Program. When I moved to Chicago I took an interest in software called Drupal. I started the Chicago Drupal Meet Up Group and have never looked back. My entire life now revolves around Drupal and I also organized the annual Drupal Camp Chicago.
